Dr. Thomas De La Garza

Tom De La Garza is a retired Army officer with over 25 years of experience in multidomain and special operations. Assignments at United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM), North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), and the Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group, serve him well as an IUFOB Board Member. His work as a MUFON Field Investigator provides a solid foundation for impartial UFO investigations in addition to years of experience with multivariate analysis and statistical modeling. Tom has served multiple combat tours in Afghanistan, interagency missions with law enforcement along the U.S-Mexico border, and service at U.S. Embassy Mexico City collaborating with U.S. and Mexican agencies. During his military career, Tom has served alongside multiple aviation units and flown hundreds of hours as a passenger, crew, or paratrooper, in U.S. military aircraft. He has additional experience with Russian rotary and fixed-wing aircraft in Western Sahara as a United Nations Military Observer. Tom holds a Ph.D. in Education from Claremont Graduate University and San Diego State University, a Master of Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles, and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (Portuguese).
