As a 509(a)(2) nonprofit organization, we rely on public support to fund our research, preserve historical archives, and expand access to credible UFO/UAP information. Every donation — large or small — directly fuels our investigative operations and public outreach.

5. Become a Member
Membership at IUFOB is highly selective and reserved for individuals with established credentials, investigative experience, and a proven history of contributions to the field.
Our current members include individuals actively working with local law enforcement, communicating with members of Congress, offering professional services to Experiencers, running certified laboratories, and providing insights on national television programs. Many hold advanced security clearances, PhDs, multiple master’s degrees, or years of specialized credentialed training.

Core Investigator Requirements:
We are only considering applicants with a proven track record of prior UFO investigations.
IUFOB does not offer training. Applicants must arrive fully equipped to handle every aspect of a case professionally.
This includes:

Demonstrated experience with credible UFO casework
-
Skilled in research, data collection, and case analysis
-
Proficiency in photo/video examination and evidence handling
-
Report Writing & Case Documentation
-
Ability to write detailed, factual, and unbiased investigation reports using standard terminology and formatting.

Proficiency in interviewing witnesses using structured methods that minimize leading questions and preserve credibility.
-
Ability to locate, document, and revisit investigation sites using GPS, Google Earth, or physical maps.
-
Familiarity with how to check and interpret air traffic data (e.g., from FlightRadar24, ADS-B Exchange) to rule out aircraft.
-
Awareness of safety protocols when investigating remote, private, or potentially hazardous locations.

Critical thinking paired with emotional intelligence

A respected reputation among peers and witnesses

No conflicts of interest. Information sharing with outside organizations is strictly prohibited

Ability to maintain objectivity and fact-based reasoning

A team-oriented mindset and positive, respectful attitude

CONNECT Team Requirements:
The CONNECT Team is a specialized unit focused on peer-led experiencer support.
To be considered, in addition to the core requirements, you must:

Be an experiencer

Have prior experience working professionally with other experiencers

Preferably hold a background in counseling, psychology, psychiatry, or a related field
-
CONNECT Team applicants must be compassionate, ethical, and highly discreet.
Support Roles:
We also welcome professionals in media, IT, marketing, finance, and business law. While investigative experience is not required for these roles, familiarity with how the UFO phenomenon intersects with your field is preferred.
